Minack Point

Cornwall had a lovely sunny day back in March and I walked down to Pedn Vounder beach to stock up on inspiring photos for potential prints.

I got this one looking towards The Minack Theatre. It has such a beautiful subtle colour palette and so many sunshine sparkles I couldn't resist.

and looking in the other direction I got a photo I used to make the print Holiday

While I spent sunny days off in August with my grandsons in the evening I was cutting hundreds of tiny sparkles.

With this print there was a lot of cutting before the first colour could be printed.

Lino and first colour

first colour - pale warm grey

2nd colour - very pale blue

3rd colour - blue/grey

4th colour - brown

5th colour - grey all over and headland

6th colour - blue/grey 2nd headland

7th colour a darker brown

at this point I was worried about the brown, although it was brown on my photo I was loving the soft blues of the last layer so I made a decision to miss this brown layer on 10 of my prints.

Next layer a darker blue/grey mostly down the bottom

and lastly a darker blue/grey colour

So I have 10 that look like the one on the left and 15 of the right

I'm very happy with both and of all the people I've asked it's about 50/50 on their favourite
