What a fab summer we've had in Cornwall. I've had lots of family visit, we've spent time enjoying walks and swims together, and of course I've been looking for images to keep me busy printing all winter.
Here's a photo I took on the 4th of July at 8pm. The golden hour sun was lighting the rocks beautifully and we'd just finished our swim. It's September already and the sun is setting around 8. Long dark evening ahead for cutting without being enticed away by inviting golden rockpools for evening swims haha
Perfect composition for me water patterns and rocks.

Here we go with the layers
First colour pale blue sky and
2nd colour pale yellow green

drawing and cut water swirls on the lino

3rd colour pale grey

4th colour grey

5th colour yellow rocks
6th colour pale green on water

cut lino

7th colour green on water

8th colour darker green on water

9th colour orange on rocks

detail of rocks, it's a very subtle change of colour but it just helps give the texture and glow of the evening sun

10th colour mauve/brown on rocks

I put 3 colours on next together a bit randomly so each print is slightly different but similar it's just the shading patterns in the water

and then the darlest colour on the rocks and mussels

and finished prints drying

14 colours
Somerset paper 250 gsm
edition size 25
printed image size 43 x 63cm
