First print of 2024 - St Ives Bay
I'm loving the tranquility of this one.
I'm going away in March to spend 3 weeks dancing Tango in Buenos Aires. It's my other passion so... I'e been working double time, days and nights to make sure I've started 2024 with some lovely big prints. Here's the first
Photo inspiration - Looking across the wet sands of Porth Kidney towards Porthminster and St Ives.

My print

St Ives Bay - It's a lovely calming early summer evening, light and reflections glow across the beach. Summer days and sand between your toes.
The sand patterns on this beach are always different creating lovely reflections. I love the light and warmth this muted palette has captured.
Here we go with the layers
first a yellow not shown
followed by a gradient of sky blue to a pale orange to beach blue

more orange down the middle and in the shadow under the land on the left

2nd blue on the beach, really starting to shine

3rd blue on the beach, that sun is glowing

sandy colour to a blue grey, here comes the beach and the distant land

darker grey, puts St Ives into the distance

and last colour a darker grey, bringing Hawkes Point and Carbis Bay forward

Finished on the wall.
